NeighborWorks® RochesterIncentives:

All NeighborWorks® Rochester programs are limited to City of Rochester households.

  • 6% interest rate
  • $3,000 or less unsecured
  • The limit on the loan is $5,000
  • The loan can go towards energy improvements that meet a combined 1:1 Savings to Investment ratio.
  • This loan can not be applied to appliances
  • It can be combined with NYSERDA's Assisted Home Performance Grant

 

NYSERDA Incentives:NYSERDA Logo

Home Performance with Energy Star:

  • All households that use a major utility in New York State are eligible for the NYSERDA incentives.  However, any contractor performing the work must be accredited through the Building Performance Institute

Low Interest Loan through Energy Finance Solutions

  • This is an unsecured loan, not a second mortgage or equity loan
  • Interest rate is 5.99%
  • The limit on the loan is $15,000 or $20,000; depending on your credit score
  • You can select a term of 3, 5, 7 or 10 years
  • Financing is available to owner-occupied 1 or 2-family homes

Homeowner Financing Incentives

  • Customer receives a 10% rebate check from NYSERDA

Assisted Home Performance with Energy Star

  • Grant that covers 50% of the energy related improvements
  • Household must meet income guidelines as noted below
  • Grant can be applied to rental property, 1-2 family properties (based on household income)
  • Grant can go towards energy improvements that meet a combined 1:1 Savings to Investment ratio
  • Can be combined with NeighborWorks® Rochester Home Improvement and Energy Loan

Federal Tax Credits:

Consult with your tax preparer to determine whether your household is eligible. 

  • 30% of the project up to $1,500 can be claimed as a tax credit
  • Only available for primary residence
  • Expires Dec. 31, 2010

HOME STAR

Silver Star Rebate

  • Homeowners can receive between $1,000 and $1,500 for each measure installed in the home, or $250 per appliance, with a benefit not exceeding $3,000.
  • Covered measures include: air sealing, attic, wall and crawl space insulation, duct sealing and replacement, replacement of existing windows and doors, furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, water heaters and appliances with high-efficiency models.
  • Silver Star improvements may be implemented by any appropriately licensed and insurance contractor.

Gold Star Rebate

  • An incentive to households that choose to have a comprehensive energy audit completed and then implement a variety of measures that are designed to provide a greater total return in energy savings.
  • A certified professional with accreditation from the Building Performance Institute (BPI), the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) or an approved equivalent must conduct the energy audit.
  • Consumers receive $3,000 for modeled savings of 20%, plus an additional $1,000 for each additional 5% of modeled energy savings.  Incentives must not exceed 50% of project costs.
