Community Revitalization Award
For achievements in housing, community organizing,
planning and design, or special projects.
Rochester Housing Development Fund Corporation
Established in 2001, RHDFC creates homeownership
opportunities for first-time buyers who meet qualified low-
and moderate-income guidelines. RHDFC acquires foreclosed
homes from HUD and the City of Rochester and makes them
available to new homeowners after renovations have been
completed.
Economic Development Award
Recognizing achievements in micro-enterprise, small
businessdevelopment, job development, or special projects
The Southside Enterprise Initiative (SEI) of the South
Wedge Planning Committee (SWPC)
SEI offers assistance to new and small businesses in
Sector 6 of the city, including business advice, help with
problem solving, marketing aid, and planning for change or
expansion. SEI also sponsors a Small Business Micro-lending
Program and helps small businesses determine if they are
eligible for Renewal Community Tax or Empire Zone
incentives.
J.E. “Red” Gramlich Lifetime Achievement Award
Thomas Richards
Richards has been a tireless champion in promoting
innovative ways to stimulate economic growth for Rochester
and in advocating that suburban areas see themselves as part
of the larger community. He has been a strong voice in
support of the need to keep the city from sliding into
economic failure so as to prevent a ripple effect that would
have a serious negative impact on the entire region.
